We narrowly missed out on being named Tea Shop of the Year at an esteemed Surrey awards ceremony – but making the top three was amazing. Only in our second year, our much-loved tearoom faced stiff competition from around the county just to be nominated for the prestigious award.
Having won Newcomer of the Year at last year’s awards we were very hopeful, but all the nominees were very strong and we were thrilled to have been amongst them.
We are so proud of what we have achieved in our first year, and that is all down to the fantastic support we have had locally, so we would like to say a huge thank you to all our staff, customers and everyone who voted for us.
We pride ourselves on being a real hub for everyone in the community, in fact, I think one of the things that makes us special is that we are particularly family-friendly, as we have a children-friendly options on the menu, little plastic plates and cutlery for them and even a special toy area. That’s one of the things that the judge particularly liked about our tea house too.
We are already looking forward to next year’s Surrey Life Food & Drink Awards, and are hopeful that some of our new ideas will really impress the judges. Among our plans for the year ahead, we will introduce breakfast and brunch options, and add in some more healthy snacks to the existing offering and bring in some vegan-friendly choices too.
Our aim is always to bring our customers the very best experience that we can, and we are looking forward to building on that even further, it’s been such a great start for us and now we can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
