We had a wonderful experience here celebrating a 90th Birthday. Delicious cream tea ,sandwiches & savories and plentiful tea !!! Friendly, helpful service ....can't recommend this place high enough.
Wonderful tea room. Delicious sandwiches, scones and cakes. Would highly recommended. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Good upstairs space for private hire.
Went in for the afternoon tea. Was told we needed to prebpok but the owner was ever so lovely and allowed us to order it.Everything was delicious as expected.Sandwiches were fresh.Spinach tartlet was mouth watering.Scones were to die for.Macha Battenburg was a new highlightThe Lemon blondie and Raspberry Posset was the perfect end.Friendly service throughout, a beautiful lil Gem 💎If you're ever this way, It is not to be missed.
Service was great, great atmosphere and the food looks good just lacking in flavour
Gorgeous cafe, a real asset to the area. We were spoilt for choice. We had brunch and cakes. Lovely friendly staff. We will be back.
Friendly teahouse, good food but bit priceyOrdered house Welsh rarebit but a little confused when it arrived: excellent sour dough bread, loads of caramelised onion chutney and what looked cheese sliced or grated. The Diet Coke was flat- probably from a large opened bottle.I will probably go before 12 and have brunch menu or afternoon for cake and tea
Visited this afternoon, my daughter and I had a cream tea…. what was served to us I could have bought at Sainsbury! Jam and cream from sachets, very small scones, it did not blow us away!
We celebrated my Nan’s 60th wedding anniversary, unfortunately my grandad passed away and so we went out to celebrate on his behalf. I told Dottys Tea House and they surprised me and my nan with a lovely glass of bubbly and a beautiful dessert with a written message. Such a gorgeous little touch and my nan was very tearful and grateful. On top of this, the food was absolutely wonderful, everything was fresh and we were so full, we came back with treats and finished it off in the evening. The tea was plentiful which was nice to see as usually you only get a cup of two in other places. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were brilliant. Thank you so much to the team, it’s our favourite little spot and we wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Very pretty little tea house/cafe. Friendly and helpful staff today. We had tea , coffee and 3 different cakes. The tea was delicious. The cakes were average-one was a bit stale-and they were on the small side. It is worth being aware that a piece of cake is roughly £5. I was a little bit shocked by this price-worth checking before ordering. A pot of tea for 2 was £6 something. The 3 stars is about the prices primarily. Not sure that I would visit again due to the price unfortunately.Worth knowing that they do have gluten free options.
My friend joined me for breakfast, spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful staff. Food was superb + great atmosphere. Will return + suggest this place is well worth a visit.
It's a sweet decorated venue for locals. Charging London price for lunch and tea. Tea cost £4.5 and cheese on toast cost £9.Club sandwich is huge none of us finished even half of it. Could be half the size and slight cheaper price.
we came for the barbie brunch this morning and had a wonderful experience. the staff were so lovely and accommodating and attentive which made it a great experience. the food was also fresh and enjoyable. the place was beautifully decorated. i would recommend it.
I stopped here for a late afternoon cup of tea and a piece of cake .Tea was perfect sandwhich egg and cress tasteless.Slice of cake not the perfect light fluffy moist cake expected .Either too much butter or something. As it was looking more like a pudding the consistency. So sad as staff nice service good .Pretty tea room.
Coffee is excellent but £5.25 for a sausage roll is just a joke ..it did taste good but still not worth £5..25 for one sausage roll ..that's just greed in my opinion
Our cream tea was lovely but my problem was with the pricing. On the website the traditional cream tea was priced at £6.95. However when I went this afternoon we were actually charged £9.95 pp. A discrepancy of 50% is pretty shocking and very misleading. When I returned home after checking the website again I phoned up. I was informed that this had been pointed out by someone else but the website had not been updated. I don't know if other items are incorrectly priced but at its kindest this is very sloppy and poor.
We were a walk-in customer yesterday. We were seated quickly and given menus.I ordered the salmon and broccoli fritatta. I wish I had taken a photo as whilst it tasted good, it was honestly the smallest portion ever. It would have fed a child the cost was £8.50!After lunch, we opted for a sweet treat. My mum ordered a slice of lemon drizzle. It was dry, and I had absolutely no lemon flavouring in the sponge itself. We asked to replace it, which they did swiftly. However, what followed next was incredibly off-putting and should never happen in any food establishment. The server used her hands to put the cake my mum chose as a replacement onto the plate.I asked for some more hot water, just to top up the cup that is pictured with this review. I was refused.. honestly, what does hot water cost? What is the value of good customer service/ satisfaction? This is terrible customer service! If I had asked for a whole pot of hot water, I could understand. In conclusion, absolutely ridiculous, in my opinion. It's not our first time visiting. However, I will be in absolutely NO rush to head back, which is a real shame.
Absolutely lovely welcome from a warm and lovely lady. Service great. Beetroot & Rose Petal latte was outstanding.. lunch of couscous salad was gorgeous
Hello lovely’s 🌹, first time I’ve been here and I must say such a delightful place to be🧁💯, I had the jacket potato with fresh orange juice, for dessert scone with clotted cream and jam, excellent staff members, service with a smile, hygenically clean place, will come again 🌹💯
Highly recommend this lovely cafe! Selection of sandwiches, cakes, afternoon tea, milkshakes, coffees and ice cream. Lovely staff. Will be back soon!
Lived in the area for a while, but this is the first time we had time to try try this place. I mainly been a bit sceptical as some reviews are quite bad. When we walked in all tables seemed to be reserved, but staff found us a table quickly. We had lunch, 2 cafe lates and club sandwich and croque Madame. Price was a bit expensive £10 per sandwich, but it was really tasty! Girl who served us was really friendly and helpful, we had a very nice experience! And coffee was also excellent! We’ll be back! Recommend! Toilets also nice and clean!
The cake was okay, although I feel like it could be softer. Anyway, this place is worth visiting.
Such an aesthetically pleasing and pleasant place all around. I took my son here for a little valentines date- he’s 5 and they were so friendly and attentive to both of us.My son struggled to finish the milkshake, however staff let us take it away too!Didn’t get any nasty vibes, everything was clean and tidied up ready for next customers. I only had a small brunch traditional tea, but could see and smell the rest, which I will soon be back to try!Thank you so much! Xxx
A charming and unique independent tea room. From the moment you walk through the door, the staff are always friendly and eager to accommodate your requirements. The variety of options available is impressive: a dedicated drinks menu, food menu offering both seasonal and staple items; and an array of enticing cakes on display. I just had to try one of the 'spooky season' delights! In addition to this, Dotty's offers a range of different afternoon teas, though these are very popular so require advanced booking.Definitely one of my favourite tea rooms that I happily return to time and time again.
Birthday Brunch for 10! Delightful setting and the food was delicious. The cake we ordered was also lovely. Highly recommend x
We enjoyed sharing brunch, which comes with pancakes, scones, yogurt and chocolate cake + coffee! It was a quite big size so good for when you are hungry. Delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. I like the interior of the place as well. The coffee is good and strong.Ps: we were served by very friendly guy, Georgi and he kindly gave us a box to take home the un eaten scones!
The salmon scrambled egg on toast was salty. I've been told that it's salty because its smoked salmon! 😅 and they offered a lemon to added on🙆🏾♀️ no happy at all ! I expected a better food and experience due to the 4.5 ⭐s. They could add a salads or at least a tomato to compensate the crazy price the charge for a simple salty toast. I give ⭐ for the friendly staff and the coffe👍
We had a lovely afternoon tea in this quaint tearoom where we sat surrounded by plants watching some unusual birds on the bird feeder. We enjoyed ourselves so much we are coming back with 3 other relatives this time.
Popped in for an impromptu sparkling cream tea today, rather refreshing in the heat! Done to the usual Dotty's standard with lovely warm scones, perfectly chilled prosecco and all conveniences for the two babies we had with us and now they are going to be serving ice-cream too! Love having a unique tearoom in our local high street to enjoy with friends and family. The lady waiting on our table was very kind and helpful too.
Dropped in on Saturday for a coffee and a catch up with a friend. We both had eggs benedict and tea. It was exceptional, I will be back to try their afternoon tea, which looked to a very high standard. Top marks ladies. Oh, and the staff were lovely.
A lovely and quaint cafe, tea room, cake shop. There is a wide selection of both sweet and savory options. The staff are friendly, the tea rooms spotless and the decor very well designed. If recommend this place and go back again.
Delightful Dotties! I went to this amazing Tea House in Carshalton today at 3:30. I think this Tea House is an up and coming one, it was absolutely lovely and so much better than I imagined. The staff were absolutely brilliant, the customer service was definitely a cut above. The waitress noticing we were struggling with making a decision started to help us narrow down our options by asking questions like hot or cold and when we got near a choice she made a recommendation. She was so friendly and clearly enjoyed working where she was as did the other genuinely smiley staff. The food was great. We had scones, tea (a special herbal blend), a cappuccino and a lemon drizzle cake. The cake and scones were light, fluffy and full of flavour. My tea was bursting with flavour. Presentation of our food wasn't novel, there are many vintage tea shops presenting baked goods on china. However, we did see presentation of other food, such as their avocado on toast which weirdly had a really playful vibe to it.The overall feel of the place was a 10/10 for me, it was well styled and there was a huge attention to detail evident. Love has been poured into the place from the well chose decor to the fab vintage vibe playlist you just cant help sing along to. The staff have obviously been chosen for their ability to add to the vibe of the place, all seemingly playful, smiley, energetic and knowledgeable about the food.I utterly loved it! Special thanks to our smiley waitress today and hats off to your customer service skills.
The afternoon tea was one we had wanted to experience for a long time, I had ordered this in advance to celebrate the queen's jubilee. Then two days before the day I got a call to say I have only booked one afternoon tea item for 3 people. She said its not for sharing, I had to explain that once we are seated I would be ordering something else rather than all of us having the same thing, she mentioned again that the afternoon tea is not for sharing. I didn't feel like eating cold sandwiches for lunch but my kids love scones and cakes plus I love this tradition to think how they did it back in the olden days. On the day, Dotty was lovely and welcoming, she really made us feel welcomed like a mother hen, the food was excellent, at least we didn't have to deal with the lady from the front end. I was just feeling paranoid after the phone call and couldn't enjoy completely with thoughts running through my mind but I'm still glad I didn't cancel after that call simply because the lady over the phone made me feel like it was a bad idea, in time I will forget her, my son enjoyed the afternoon tea as I have dairy allergies but he shared with his sister and we were all happy with the food.
My Mum and I had a beautiful Platinum Jubilee afternoon tea at Dotty’s today. Delicious sandwiches and scones and gorgeous cakes. Such a pretty tea room and a lovely, friendly atmosphere too. Will definitely be back. Thank you Dotty’s!
Excellent place to visit. There is always a great choice of cakes to pick from, and the staff are always very helpful, friendly and welcoming. It has a nice feel to it. A lot of trouble has been taken with the design too.
Local tea shop. Friendly staff. A bit like visiting a favourite aunty. Tea good, but could offer a wider choice. Cakes and sandwiches were excellent.
This is the second time I have visited Dotty’s Teahouse. I have never sat in, but I always grab a piece of cake/ drink when passing. They are too good to just walk past! The hot chocolate is one of the best I’ve had, and the classic Victoria sponge is really yummy.Really recommend you come here!
Such a beautiful little spot for brunch, lunch or just a nice cuppa tea. Lovely friendly staff and an amazing selection of baked goodies to choose from. This was our first visit to Dotty's but I will definitely not be our last. Thank you.
I celebrated my 60th birthday with afternoon tea and friends at home. The service was excellent and the delicious cakes and custom sandwiches were delivered in the morning. They were beautifully boxed and my guests loved them. We had a fantastic day as a prequel to the big party at the weekendThank you Rebecca and the team for a lovely spread.
Haven't had an Afternoon Tea/Lunch in a very long time so this was the perfect place to go. Food was delicious, butternut sq & sw potato soup aswell along with a Club sandwich followed by a baked scone (with cream and jam). To drink a Pot of Tea (Assam) in decorative tea cups and strainer. Decor was very colourful with a bouquet of hanging dried flowers. Service with a smile and very welcoming, will be back.
Cute cafe with cheerful decor. Suggest booking as it can get busy. Friendly service. Cakes baked on site and great selection. Happy customer - would recommend.
Amazing cafe! Breakfasts are so good and the cafe is beautiful inside and out. Even a separate roomfor celebrations such as birthdays, baby showers. I will be returning..
I enjoyed an afternoon tea at Dotty's Teahouse. It was a set menu with delicious sandwiches, scones and homemade jam, loose tea and cakes. I was disappointed with the scones which were very dry so marked it down. The cakes were nice though. I'd definitely go again as it is local to me.
Booked a table to meet with a couple of friends on a weekday morning. Staff were lovely except for one member of staff who spoke rudely to us a couple of times. She seemed uninterested in our dietary restrictions. There are hardly any vegan options at all. The only things we could order was a houmous wrap, hot chocolate (made with plant based milk) and a flapjack. The flapjack was very sweet, must have been drenched in golden syrup. I couldn't finish it. I would go back only if they added more vegan options to their menu. I asked about vegan cakes on their Instagram and was told they have some but nothing was vegan in the cakes section. Such a shame. Their loss really. It would make business sense to cater for those on a plant based diet.
First time I've been here. The staff were so friendly and the food was delicious. The place is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to go back!
Today I came for the afternoon tea! The wizard afternoon tea! It was amazing!! The food was soo yummy!! We got extra sandwiches! The cakes were amazing. The staff were lovely really chatty friendly and so helpful. I had a buggy and they put it away so it wasn't in the way. Been a few times definitely coming back! And would recommend to everyone to try at least once!
Good tea house, serves a selection of breakfast and lunch fare. The tea menu is quite extensive. Quite busy most of the time and the table space is somewhat limited, so it's a good idea to call ahead and reserve a table.
My wife’s birthday began with breakfast at this outstanding house of quality. Tremendous service. Great food. Lovely surroundings. Worth ten stars.
The whole experience of visiting this Teahouse was wonderful from entering to leaving. The food was beautiful and well presented. The staff were very informative and attentive. Will definitely visit again.
Quaint little tea shop in Carshalton! Always busy and advise booking in advance, although there is room for walk-in.Large selection of hot drinks, and tasty little bites, along with cakes, and sweet delights!Afternoon tea packages are good too, although yet to try. Definitely will do so soon!
Beautiful setting and wonderful staff who were friendly and more than accommodating! Food was delicious and took plenty home with us to enjoy from the counter. Thank you!
Absolutely fantastic. Better than top London Hotel afternoon tea. All freshly made and very tasty. Service was excellent. Highly recommend
A really nice and friendly place, the staff were great and the food was nice. Menu has a good choice and also has great options for young children. Only complaint was the milkshakes were not cold enough but a minor issue.
We spent the afternoon celebrating our friends birthday in this wonderful and beautifully decorated teahouse. Dotty and all her staff welcomed us with warmth and joy. The afternoon tea was so elegantly displayed and very delicious. All items were of a very high standard freshly baked cakes and sandwiches really tasty. We will definitely be back to enjoy some more Thank you Dotty and all your amazing staff. HIGHLY recommend!
REALLY LOVELY cafe, with brilliantly caring staff, (Natalie, amongst others), who provide a warm welcome to all sorts of people, including cyclists out for a gentle bike-ride on a Saturday afternoon. The machiato's looked interesting, whilst the English Breakfast tea, (served in a glass tea-pot), was good, and the cakes are/were DELICIOUS! Thank you so much for your friendliness and great cakes. We shall return, often.
Had an amazing afternoon tea with the family, everyone here is so friendly and the kids had a great time. All the food was just amazing, can't wait to go back.
Beautiful, friendly, lots of tasty treats! Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent afternoon tea, served on pretty china by lovely people.Very welcoming and professional service.
Highly recommend! I have never been disappointed - the cakes are always delicious and there is a large selection. Great atmosphere and lovely staff!
Received my afternoon tea today and we were all in heaven. Everything was so fresh and tasty, sandwiches were in a separate box away from the cakes and we could not have enjoyed it anymore. First time ordering and definitely will not be the last. Thank you so much Dotty.
We booked this place for birthday celebration as a small group of friends. Although the details were spoken on the phone before coming we had a confusion about placement. It is acceptable that this kind of misunderstandings sometimes happen but except one polite staff others were very rude while explaining the situation. Especially a woman I don’t know if she was manager or not , from her servicing to the body language, was not friendly and made me feel unwanted there. If only I had not chosen this place but never again.
Wonderful food lovely ladies who work thank you for a lovely time very nice food ❤❌
Just had an afternoon tea for 2, and a little dots afternoon tea delivery today for our 10th wedding anniversary. Amazing quality, the smell was so delicious that my kids and husband couldn't help themselves by 'testing' some treats when I went out of the kitchen! Thank you Dotty's Teahouse, we will definitely be back! Great delivery too by your delivery guy.
Ordered a surprise lockdown afternoon tea for my wife's birthday, she and I were delighted. Excellent food and very efficient service. Scones were surprisingly big and delicious, will finish the brownies for breakfast ?. Nice finishing touches and would definitely recommend.
We ordered afternoon tea for our 30th anniversary not sure what to expect and were very pleased with what arrived. The beautifully prepared sandwiches, cakes and scones were a delight. Lots of little touches made it feel very special. The ordering and delivery were stress free. Would definitely do it again
Absolute life saver! I ordered afternoon tea and a Victoria sponge cake for my daughters 21st lockdown birthday. In these difficult times it was perfect, I created a vintage tea room 'at home'. Delivery arrived in good time and the array of cakes was spot on! Great service.
Ordered an afternoon tea online as a surprise for our mum's birthday. She was over the moon with the presentation and abundance of sandwiches and cakes included. The Happy Birthday message was also a lovely touch.Thoroughly recommend ?
Lovely Afternoon Tea for Two in a gift box. Beautifully presented, all delicious to eat. Loose tea in nylon bags too. Thank you.
I ordered an afternoon tea for my parents which was delivered on time and was well packed. The food was beautiful and there was lots of it. A fabulous birthday present for my Mum.
I've had breakfast at the teahouse, which was very nice. Also had a delivery of afternoon tea, which was delicious. Would definitely recommend :)
The best afternoon tea in Carshalton! It felt like being in Alice in Wonderland. Alma(I finally met another Alma!) was lovely, welcoming and very helpful with our request. Definitely going back once lockdown n.2 is over ♡
Have ordered two afternoon teas from Dotty's. One for myself and a present for a friend. Mine was just lovely and my daughter loved the way it was presented. I also had a child tea as well and my 3 year old grandchild thought she was so grown up. Jam sandwiches are one of her favourites, and the cakes she had went down a treat with grandad as well. All in all pleased with this and will try the breakfast box next.My friend has phoned to thank me for the gift. She has said the sandwiches look great, as she is a vegetarian not always a great choice but she was well happy. And said she will be saving some for tommorrw. The bubbly is in the fridge and she is ready to go.The delivery option is fantastic especially in lockdown, and it is a great gift to send to friends as a pick me up. It is a shame that the minimum spend is £20.00, but can understand why this is the case, but I would be able to send the £10.00 scones jam etc to more of my volunteers. But will definitely be ordering again soon. Thanks for the pick me up Dotty's.
You simply can't miss this lovely pink Tea house on the corner!!The food here is amazing and definitely coming back to get more food pictures for my blog!
Fabulous decorYummy food. I had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup with a pot of English breakfast tea.Friendly staffI wi definitely be visiting very soonThank you
It's great that Dotty's has re-opened. We had a lovely breakfast here in a charming setting. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and their 'covid secure' arrangements are excellent. We look forward to visiting again.
Great place to have tea and cake, staff so attentive, food and ambience wonderful,! Go see for yourself
Love this place! Friendly staff and great food. Love coming here with my little girl.
Great staff, very friendly and attentive, food was lovely will definitely be back again!
The staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was excellent, would recommend to go and enjoy
Good experience, tasty finger sandwiches and cakes. Went for my mum's birthday and she enjoyed herself.
1st visit for me today and unfortunately I was underwhelmed. To be fair my wife & daughter have been before and I was probably expecting a little too much based on their previous reviews.I had the cheese on toast but was disappointed to find the bread was just plain old medium sliced bread. I was expecting some nice home made bread or perhaps a thick slice of sourdough. My son-in-law to be had the fully loaded pancakes but found the sausages very disappointing and the scrambled eggs had clearly been microwaved and were overcooked so he left both items. Both looked very anemic, in fact the eggs were almost white, and the pancakes were quite small. The waitress was very attentive and said she would take the eggs and sausages off the bill which was a very nice touch. However when it came this didn’t seem to have been done. I pointed this out to him but he didn’t want to make a fuss and as it was his treat I felt I would respect his wish. With the eat out scheme the bill was acceptable but without that discount I would definitely have been inclined to push the point. On the upside the cakes looked delicious and the tea was excellent. I took a piece of carrot cake away (purely for research purposes you understand!) but haven’t had chance to try it yet.
Lovely breakfast this morning. Took a bit of cake for later... because well it would be rude not to! Staff are lovely to ??
We had a fabulous first experience. The food and drinks were lovely. We had the prawn baguettes and cream tea. The scones were some of the best I’ve had. The service was amazing, with staff checking up on us a few times to make sure everything was okay and clearing away things that we were finished with. Pricing is very reasonable. Will definitely return and recommend.
Wonderful customer service and fabulous food, makes living in Canada and ordering presents for our lovely friends and family back home an absolute delight, knowing how much care and attention you give.Thank you to the wonderful young man who called me to confirm that our order dates were correct! Will be sending gift cards out now you are back open!
Afternoon tea for my wife's 60th during lockdown. Sandwiches, scones and cakes were excellent, will definitely use again.
I attended a retirement gathering for our local Headteacher yesterday, and they put on a marvellous afternoon tea, with boxes and boxes of the most delicious afternoon tea goodies imaginable!Scrumptious!
Received an afternoon tea delivery for my birthday and it was a real treat - tasty sandwiches, beautiful scones (with proper roddas clotted cream) and more cakes than we should have been able to finish in one sitting... though we managed somehow! The fruitcake in particular was delicious. Would thoroughly recommend.
We ordered an afternoon tea box and a children's box for my son's birthday and Dotty's certainly didn't disappoint. The sandwiches and cakes were lovely, all fresh and so tasty. There was definitely plenty to go around. The scones were absolutely out of this world ! They delivered earlier upon request and even wished my son a happy birthday on the delivery card. Certainly wouldn't hesitate to order from them again and will look forward to popping into the cafe sometime.
My son and daughter in law surprised me with a home delivered afternoon tea. It was absolutely delicious. From the sandwiches to the scones (they were huge) and cream and jam and the home made cakes and strawberries it was 5* all the way. Will definitely visit the tea house when lockdown is over.
Ordered an “Afternoon Tea for 2” delivery for my mums birthday and it was absolutely lovely! Great selection of cakes, each one delicious and beautifully presented in box. Lovely finger sandwiches - again nice selection and more than enough for 2 people. Really pleased and my mum was over the moon with the surprise. This was a recommendation to me, and I will be ordering again. Thanks Dotty’s
I ordered an afternoon tea box for my Mother's birthday. She was delighted! It was beautifully presented, freshly made and tasted delicious! Thank you Dotty's.
We ordered the VE Day celebration box and Tea for 2 for our VE Day front garden party and wow! the food was amazing. Beautifully presented and a wonderful selection of sandwiches, cakes and nibble. Absolutely brilliant service, excellent selection. Will definitely be back again. Thank you.
Lovely place to go with friends or even treat yourself to some time out with a book. Great food, service and atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
Lovely service here, very friendly and helpful. The cheese on toast is to die for!! The best I've ever had!
Beautiful tea room but the vegan gluten free cake was very dry and not very flavoursome. Try using apple sauce, 1/4 cup per egg. This makes any VGF cake beautifully moist.
Amazing staff, very friendly, helpful and organised. I might be wrong, but I think the cook has changed. Nothing unusual, just noticed the pancakes are a bit different now, more fluffy, less sweet (and this is a good thing), and...just different. And we loved it! Eggs Benedict/royale - amazing as always, great presentation, very clean, not too runny, just perfect.
Perfect spot for a celebration with friends. Brilliant, efficient service despite being a busy day (always worth booking). Delicious afternoon tea with lots of yummy leftovers which they were happy for us to box up and take away with us. Thank you!
We recently booked Dottys Teashop for my friends baby shower and it didn't disappoint. Staff went out of their way to help us and accommodate us. Abby was our main server for the day and was extremely attentive, and very polite and friendly. The food and drink was od a high quality and more than enough for us. Will definitely visit again
I went for a meet up with my girliends, and took two girls, age 10. They were excited to go, but we were put in the babies area out the back amongst tantrums and tears of younger children. Instead of being treated like young ladies the girls were given plastic plates and beakers instead of pretty plates/cup and were treated like much younger kids. The lady serving was quite abrupt and not very friendly. We didn't even have a tablecloth!
What a hidden gem! Discovered this lovely little boutique cafe via friends and visited for an Xmas Afternoon Tea experience - pretty decor, great selection of tasty sandwiches, scones & treats and really friendly staff. So lovely to be able to experience this locally.
Great selection of teas and coffees. Very lovely and friendly staff. I spend good time with my friends and will came back again for lunch soon.
What a gorgeous little tea room. The place really feels like a passion project - the decor is adorable with great attention to detail it's super cosy. The staff are so friendly and bubbly and the food was divine. I had the tuna cheese on toast... it was epic!
Took 2 granddaughters here for morning Halloween stories and songs while my wife and I had morning cups of tea. They thoroughly enjoyed it .Lovely cups of tea and very friendly staff. Definitely going to come back for afternoon tea ,sandwiches and cakes. Thank you.
Real old fashioned tea shop. Many retro pieces. Delicious cakes. Good gluten free choice. Staff very friendly
Had the ploughman’s, a new addition to the menu. Fabulous - really tasty and would be great to share. Really enjoyed the coleslaw and pickles - lovely bread - it was delicious. Coffee fab as always but there large coffee isn’t large enough for me!!
Lovely tea shop with vintage decor. We attended today for afternoon tea. The selection of sandwiches, scones and savoury we’re delicious and plentiful we have taken some home. The staff are amazingly friendly and attentive, we will be visiting again.
Such a pretty tea room. Great for vintage lovers. The staff are super friendly and the food is utterly delicious! I recommend the Victoria Sponge!
Nice friendly place to eat/drink. Lovely cakes. Not the best milkshake in the world, but ok :)
A nice little tea shop. The service was great, my only complaint is there is not enough vegan options. Avocado on toast, that’s it. Also only soya milk available and a couple of vegan sweet options. Unfortunately I won’t come back because of this reason. ?
Simply amazing!!Been with a friend and I can say that everything was wonderful in "Wonderland"The staff were very friendly. We had two amazing salads. One with tuna and the other one with ham. Good portions, so exactly what we needed. The place is a fairy tale. Highly recommend this gem.
Nice little cute place for an afternoon tea. Very attentive. Nice sandwiches although they didn't seem to restock sandwiches... Spoilt by teas at the Ritz where they do I guess lol.
Great coffee. Good selection of teas and cakes. Nice afternoon tea. Excellent customer service every time.
Lovely atmosphere and decor. Only had a scone as it was on a weekday stoyd 4pm. Need to try the proper cream yes experience
Their coffee is a real treat. It is dark and rich. My partner and I love strong coffee and gladly found this place. We already put in our list to go for coffee.
Lovely little place on carshalton high street. Easy to get to by public transport and has mostly inside dining but does have a couple of tables outside. Perfect when it's really warm. Staff very friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
Dotty's has a vintage vibe, due to the decor & music. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is very tasty. Would recommend.
Little hidden Gem. Loved it! Cakes were out of this world. Tip: bring a little cardi, can get a bit nippy in the back.
If I could I would put more than 5 stars for sure.. We went to Dottys tea house today. The service was amazing. Such friendly staff, Will definitely be going back again. Food is amazing. And wow the cakes. Thank you again for making us feel so welcome.
I took my mum and aunt visiting from Australia. We had the Alice in wonderland afternoon tea. So much food. Amazing price and we all had a wonderful time. I was heavily pregnant and looked after by the staff getting me a different chair etc. Endless top ups. We had a wonderful time. Can't wait to take my mum back in August 2019 x
Lovely retro tea house, Ideal place to take mums and nans. Old fashioned tea strainer china cups and cream teas etc
Charming, cosy & creative - love the concept of a friendly, flowery, pink Alice in Wonderland place. Also great for throwing kids birthday parties. One of my favourite coffee shops.
This place is amazing - I had arranged a birthday treat for my wife and accidently booked the wrong place! They were very busy but kindly accommodated us so that my wife’s birthday wasn’t ruined due to my mistake! They served us quickly, were lovely and friendly and even put a candle on one of the cakes!!!I would really recommend this place to all - a lovely, quaint little tea room with lovely, friendly staff and tasty sweet treats!
Superb tea shop. Very nice selection of sandwiches and cakes and drinks. Would recommend. Friendly staff.
Really nice tea room. We went for lunch and the sandwiches and cake were lovely. The staff were friendly and welcoming. But the real star was the tea, I had three pots! Delicious and fragrant Earl grey. Planning to book in afternoon tea there soon.
Best peppermint tea I have ever tasted! Popular choice so make sure you have booked.
Lovely place to go for lunch or afternoon tea. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff are friendly and attentive. The cheese toast was delicious and you do get quite a good amount of food for the price. The cake was also pretty great.
What a little gem! Decent sandwiches and good service. Cake was fluffy and moist, just right. Can't fault Dotties. Will be back!
Lovely little tea house. Lovely mismatched crockery. Lovely cream tea with big pot of tea. Interesting home made cakes, chocolate and mint, poppyseed and orange.
Cute and cosy teahouse with lovely cakes and lots of tea varieties. It could do with a revamp of the furnishings but that sort of adds to its charm.
Such a lovely little tea shop. A relaxed atmosphere with a good choice of options on the menu and home made cakes too. Will definitely go back to try a brunch as the food looked scrummy.
Always receive 1st class service. Today was no different. Great food and great coffee. Even took some cake away for later.
Lovely place. Super friendly staff. Great coffee and scone with jam and cream to die for!
Nice quirky coffee shop.v small cups of tea and coffee,I'm used to larger mugs. Some nice home bakes but most of menu is regular shop brought things. Nice selection of teas.
It looked amazing but I visited the chip shop next door which I would also recommend. Google always asks me to review places that I have only walked past...I will pop in for a nice cup a tea one day soon.
Thankyou very much for perfectly good tea and coffee also the food is amazing fresh baked cakes as well appointed for our appreciation we visited boss enjoying hoilday god bless
This tea room is really cute and has baby pink walls with tea pots over them. Really cute ambience and amazing staff. They serve scrumptious scones with clotted cream, marmalade and English tea. They also have a mouth watering range of freshly baked cakes. Our usual breakfast spot.
I've been here many times now and always enjoyed it. They are so friendly and helpful to those with babies. There is space at the back to bring your pushchair in and sit down. There is a little play area in the corner for children - toddlers upwardsI would say. Table service with friendly waitresses. Lunchtime mealdeal is great value and yummy. Don't forget to use your Carshalton mum's badge/card if you have one ??
Pleasant venue with good service and food choices. Tea party for 5 went well ...only issue was loud background music and road noise...sit away from the door. A lovely afternoon...
Quaint tea House in Carshalton Village. Friendly service, excellent selection of teas and nice atmosphere. None of the crockery match but that adds to the charm of the place. Tea is always served in China cups for the best taste.
Fantastic, great service, excellent coffee and tea! Sandwiches tasty and we went to an excellent birthday party there today. The service though was really really good!!!!
Lovely little cafe. Space out back for children to play while you enjoy a cuppa and a cake! Friendly staff.
A lovely vintage and pink tea house. We had a lovely afternoon tea with lots of yummy food to celebrate my hen party.
Such lovely people running this place.. really welcoming and go the extra mile. We had the afternoon tea and was well worth the 25 pounds (couldnt finish it all and really tasty) i would give 6 stars!!

Great food, lovely ambience. Excellent service. Pancakes drizzled with maple syrup, the perfect post night shift breakfast.
Booked a table for my friends baby shower and it couldn't have been more wonderful. The afternoon tea was delicious and there was so much of It! Great value! The staff were flexible and accommodating of all our requests. They let us decorate the table, added us an extra chair and helped us with a toast. It was a lovely afternoon and I send a massive thanks to the team for their hard work! Highly recommend!
This place is no longer a secret! The staff are wonderful the choice of tea is amazing and the sandwiches and cakes are to die for! Little Eden will be back for more after Zaras baby shower today. Thank you for such a beautiful experience ???
A pleasant enough experience Service very nice. Food nice. We have been meeting at Dotty's for a year. Time for a change. The menu has not changed much.
Lovely tea room. Very mum and baby friendly. I felt comfortable feeding my baby here. Tasty food and drink. Friendly and helpful staff.
Really delightful tea room with lovely food and excellent cakes. Décor is cute and homey without being kitsch. Staff are super nice and friendly.
Good experience and the food was good. The we had between us was delicious. Will be back!
Lovely place for lunch. It is only a tea room so do not expect to get dinner here. The food is great and the staff are helpful and friendly. Xx
Absolutely fantastic. Lovely staff. Made our party of 12 feel so special as it was a birthday celebration we considered this a real treat and was welcomed from the booking.... THANK YOU
Friendly staff, and excellent cakes. Perfect place for a nice afternoon tea. The Coke float is a real winner, and comes in a jar style glass. The place might look small from the outside, but there's plenty of room in the back, along with a children's play area ( toys and books ).
Gorgeous food and cakes and great if you have children as there's an area at the back where they can play. The staff are really friendly. My fave place for lunch in the area. We need more Dotty's!
We had a wonderful tea here this afternoon for my sisters birthday. The staff were lovely, attentive without being intrusive and you felt that nothing was too much trouble. We were offered more sandwiches when we cleared the ones that were brought out in no time!! Ended up taking a doggy bag home of the cakes we couldn't finish! Can't praise them enough and we will definitely be back .
Lovely surroundings and service. Foid us excellent, Dotty has good ideas at serving toasties and sandwiches. Different flavours. Cakes.... Scrummy.
Great place to come in to have cakes and tea ?Simple but great Deco inside but you feel the love and service all around.Highly recommend ?
I visited Dolly's Teahouse for the first time today with my sister and great niece and was so impressed....I loved the atmosphere,it was so friendly, clean and welcoming, the hot chocolate is to die for as well as the cake and bread pudding, lovely clean toilet and a nice little children's play area, we wasn't rushed to give up our table at all and there were lots of little interesting bits and pieces you could purchase around the Teahouse....all in all I would highly recommend Dolly's if you love the traditional cup of tea in China teapots and cups and wonderful cake....as well really nice staff and good prices too!
This place is a rip-off. They only sell basic sandwiches, so the make virtually 100% profit. It is so over priced that I cannot believe anyone would pay what they are charging. They have put this place together with the minimum of attention to floor or chairs. I think that people cannot see past the buntin and artificial flowers.
It's a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, with fantastic and efficient service. They run events for children in the holidays, pottery painting is one they're running this summer. They are very focused on making people of all ages feel welcome and at home. There are two rooms, the back room where we sat was spacious and there were toys for toddlers to play with. I loved it and can't wait to go back again.
Had tea at Dotty's today with a friend and her little baby. I was really impressed with the attentive and friendly service from all the staff, without being in your face. It is a charming place that is welcoming to families with small children and babies. We enjoyed delicious toasties, tea, coffee and cakes, all very reasonably priced and served in spacious, bright, clean and tastefully decorated tea rooms. Perfect spot for something to eat and a relaxing chat. Thanks for a lovely time. It made catching up with my friend really special. I look forward to returning soon. Phyllis.
I visited here today with my family who have recently moved to the area. We were a little late for our booking but they could not have been more accommodating and offered us a lovely welcome. What a lovely environment and the most friendly of staff. We had a pot of English breakfast tea, cakes and scones with jam and cream. A most delightful experience. We will return.
